How to reclaim more time... for the things you want!

99-SECOND READ

'Do we need more time or do we need to be more disciplined with the time we have?'

The Paradox of Time: The faster you move, the faster time seems to pass; so the less time you feel you have - the faster you move.

"Slow is smooth, smooth is fast"

This is a term that Navy SEALs use, which you can apply to your life to get more done in less time.

We live in a busy world, so there are many situations when we want to react quickly and rush from one task to the next. But in our efforts to move so quickly, we end up working less effectively.

Although it may feel counter-intuitive, slowing down, pausing between tasks, and considering your approach will not only give you the sense that you have more time (reducing anxiety and stress), but will allow you to get more done and work more effectively.

EXAMPLE:

This is my 18th newsletter (that went quickly), at the beginning, I used to type them out at full speed. Because of this, I was constantly editing, re configuring and correcting them. Now I write down an idea a few days ahead, I let the idea marinate. Then when I sit down to write, I don't start typing, I think about it. I type slower and pause to reflect. Guess what... I get them done much quicker, and I believe they're better!

Examples of unhelpful thoughts that cause us all to rush:

  • I have loads to do
  • I don't have enough time for everything
  • I need to get this done or else...
  • The faster I move the more I'll get done

Here are thoughts we can consciously choose to focus on:

  • I create most of my own to do lists and deadlines
  • I have enough time for all the things that are important
  • If I miss this deadline, it's will have a negligible impact on my future
  • I get most done when I work calmly and effectively

Replacing people's unique unhelpful thoughts with empowering ones is what I do in coaching. It transforms people's lives.

'I had a true breakthrough session with Simon. In just our first session together, he was able to identify the root fears blocking me and through his thought-provoking questions helped me come up with a solution to break that pattern.

I wasn't expecting this level of breakthrough in my first session with him, but was very pleasantly surprised! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM to help unlock your highest potential!'
