Higher self, Lower self

99-SECOND READ

'Your success will be determined by your own confidence and fortitude'

Michelle Obama

Your lower self is greedy, selfish, and short-sighted. It's concerned with power, dominance and image. It's ego-driven, emotional, and animalistic, and it wants to follow the crowd. It's stronger than your higher self.

Your higher self is patient, understanding and selfless. It's concerned with wisdom, kindness and positive impact. It's value-driven, rational, human, and independent. It's weaker than your lower self.

99.93% of the 8.2 billion people on the planet are governed by their lower most of the time.

Our lower self is stronger because it is older. Long before humans developed conscious thought and developed morals and higher values, we had our animal instincts to keep us alive. We needed to be greedy, selfish, and aggressive to survive in what was a violent and dangerous world.

But the world is different now. We are at the top of the food chain and there is very little danger. Now, we are the only ones causing the violence and unhappiness because we are being governed by our lower selves.

I know what you are thinking; where is the good news?!

The good news, as always, my lovely reader, is that you can choose. Yes, you, and I, get to choose which version of ourselves we embrace, nurture, and allow to guide us and go on a lifelong journey to amplify its voice.

This is maybe the simplest way of defining what personal development is, and what it means to grow.

This is the journey I take people on through coaching.

Choosing your higher self will not only create greater peace, contentment, and happiness for you. It will have a halo effect, illuminating the lives of people around you. How do you think your life would improve if you could do this?

Trust me, when I say it's a journey. It's a daily choice, and sometimes a struggle.

It's hard to do on your own, how do you know where to start?

'Man will only become better when you make him see what he is like.'

- Anton Chekhov

If there is a voice within you, that wants to go on this journey, that is the voice of higher, listen to it.

'I had a true breakthrough session with Simon. In just our first session together, he was able to identify the root fears blocking me and through his thought-provoking questions helped me come up with a solution to break that pattern.

I wasn't expecting this level of breakthrough in my first session with him, but was very pleasantly surprised! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM to help unlock your highest potential!'
